Remember Life Lessons from Mom on Mother’s Day

mothersday

Think about all the things that your mom has done for you over the years. You probably can write a book about all the sacrifices that she made just in the first five years of life. Now, think about all the things that she did that annoyed you.

We know that moms can say and do things that bug us from time to time, and we probably wondered why she said these things. While we were convinced at the time it was to be annoying, as an adult you start to realize that many of those annoyances where actually life lessons, which can be applied to plumbing... you read that right! so read on to learn more.

Those Spots on Dishes Could Signal a Bigger Concern

wipeglassWhen you were old enough to wash the dishes, and if you didn’t have a dishwasher, your mom probably had you wiping away spots after every wash. But why? While it could have been her being picky, we have some news for you.

Those spots on the glasses? They might not have been your fault at all. It might just be due to the water you used. Your house might have hard water, and one of the symptoms of hard water is spots and stains on glassware.

While you could argue daily, now you can just combat the issue with a water softener installation. Water softeners help eliminate the miners that leave deposits on your glassware, keeping your dishes spot free and your mom happy!

Cutting Down On Your Bathroom Time

longshowerYour mom probably was always telling you to go and take a shower. So why did your mom get upset when you were taking long showers or baths? Well, first of all, water is expensive if you don’t have a well, so there’s that.

But if they have hard water in their house, long showers and baths also can affect the plumbing and corrode pipes as time goes by.

Not only does this lead to major issues like burst pipes and emergencies, but it could have easily been addressed as a kid. Now that you’re an adult, you can do a better job of testing your water, and also turning off the fixtures when not in use. Your water bill will thank you.

Why Did She Want to Start Collecting Water When It Rained?

collectwaterOne of the reasons why she might have wanted to start collecting water any time it rained goes back to the expense of the water bill. However, it also could be because it’s an environmentally friendly way that you can get water without using up resources.

Rainwater is a good way that you can get water for things like washing cars, washing your dog, watering the garden and other things besides cooking and drinking. You can even use it for the toilet!

Don’t forget May 12th is Mother’s Day. Call your mom and do something nice for her. And if you are married and have children, don’t forget to have the kids do nice for their mother. Yes, your mom probably annoyed you sometimes. You probably annoyed her sometimes. But she loves you and you love her. So make sure that you show your appreciation for all of the things that she has done for you.
